Beware of dealing with Royal Caribbean!

My husband and I were 2 of 145 passengers stranded by Royal Caribbean last Sunday, 8/21/11, in San Juan PR. The ship left 3 hours early due to the approaching storm Irene. We were not notified by phone or email of this even though we had access to both. We were told we could meet the ship at the next port at our own expense. Meanwhile a Carnival cruise out of PR stranded 300 passengers but they were given 2 nights at a hotel and a flight to the next port at Carnival's expense. The only people RC helped were those that booked the cruise and flights through them - 15 people! Upon returning home (we did not get to cruise at all) and contacting RC we were informed that "CORPORATE" decided not to refund or compensate anyone for the cruise. What an awful way to run a company! We chose RC after cruising with them before, and as members of their Crown & Anchor club we thought we would be dealing with a high quality company. Well I'm sorry we didn't go with Carnival, who took care of their customers. Royal Caribbean needs to change their ruling on this and refund all the people who chose them for a cruise!
